Nusa Lembongan covers an area of about 8 square kilometers and is one of the three adjacent islands. The other is the larger Nusa Penida and the smaller Nusa Ceningan (also described in this article). The three islands are separated from Bali by the Padang Strait.

With trucks Lembongan Island has almost no cars. Any business or local residents who want to bring a car to the island need special permission from the elders in the town. This will only be granted under special circumstances. The basic pickup truck used by most hotels and restaurants provides local four-wheeled transportation.
